Closed: Communication Co-ordinator (Part-time)

Attention all communication champions!

Are you ready to take on a powerful role in the fight against immigration detention?

Look no further than our Communications Co-ordinator position.

As the Communications Co-ordinator, you will play a pivotal role in supporting the development of influencing and engagement activities that build a collective voice for the AVID network. You will work alongside the Policy and Communications Manager to develop strategic areas for oversight and awareness building of immigration detention and opportunities to engage with communities and media on compassionate alternatives.

We are looking for a dynamic and proactive individual who is passionate about social justice and human rights. You will have experience in creating and implementing engaging communications, building relationships with partners, and engaging with online communities through website, newsletter, and social media platforms.

In this role, you will also have the opportunity to collaborate with people who have lived experience of immigration detention and hostile environment policies to ensure that our communications and awareness-raising activities are meaningfully co-produced and reflect the realities for people in immigration detention.

This is a critical time to join the AVID team. With the current political climate, the expansion of immigration detention is a concerning reality. As Communication Coordinator, you will have the opportunity to make a real difference by shaping and amplifying our message and mission. We are looking for a candidate who is not only passionate about this important cause but also has the skills and experience to deliver effective communication strategies.
