AVID Skillshare

AVID's skills sharing programme

We are delighted to launch a new initiative - the AVID skillshare programme - open to all members NOW!!

Have you always wondered how other groups support their volunteers in an ongoing way? Would you like to share fundraising ideas? Would you like to share your new project with others, or get informal feedback about a new initiative? Or simply offload about a problem you are facing in running your group? Then SKILLSHARE is for you!

The AVID skillshare is a new initiative, designed to better facilitate learning and sharing amongst our diverse network. Building on the links made at the AVID conference and the informal learning which takes place between groups via our online forum, the Skillshare launches in 2017.

AVID Skillshare Programme supports both Coordinators and volunteer visitors, by providing learning opportunities on key thematic areas, identified by visitors groups themselves. It is a safe, confidential platform for information sharing, problem solving, and identification of best practice. It enables all those involved in volunteer visiting to share and learn from each other.

This is open to all members in the network.

Skillshare Programme Launch!

Themes will be chosen by the membership, and can be on any issue, problem, activity or area of good practice that you would like to discuss with your peers around the network. The sessions will be flexible, depending on group interest and time, but will allow enough time for the topic to be explored fully and to discuss, explore, share, and collaborate with others.

If you have any questions or ideas, please contact Gee Manoharan (gee.manoharan@aviddetention.org.uk/ 07896 847 526) to discuss this further.
